It's time for #strsharesunday! Today we are sharing Casa Cochecton.
Their property is a refined sanctuary inspired by wabi-sabi principles.
Say whaaatt?
Ok, we did our research here. Wabi-sabi is the Japanese design focused on transience and imperfection.
This is a BEAUTIFUL space. We always highlight amazing properties, but you can really see their inspiration here in every single element: the light fixtures, the furniture, the wall hangings, the art, the plants, you name it!
We are totally smitten with this property. Dig deep in the spaces you're creating. Find what speaks to you! Don't be shy. What speaks to you, what inspires you, and what speaks to you will speak to others as well.

Meredith Cowley is a passionate Social Worker turned Short Term Rental Entrepreneur. Following the birth of her son, then a diagnosis of breast cancer, Meredith re-evaluated her priorities and found a business that aligned with these.
Meredith strives to keep a healthy balance between family life and a flourishing hospitality and real estate gig. Sometimes she gets it right, but it's always a work in progress. The important part is making decisions - even in business - that are centered around what’s best for your family, instead of the other way around.
For Meredith this may look like keeping a 20-hour work week and delegating on-site work to her team, or balancing the business after her partners stepped away, or pivoting from areas like arbitrage to property management as her business continues to evolve.
Based in sunny Australia, she has grown a boutique STR business where she helps guests and property owners create memories. She is also a contributing author in the...

Take some tips from this account! They aren't even open yet and they have been bringing us along on the journey of building this property and starting out. So many of us want to wait until everything is perfect before we put it out to the world, but they're doing the exact opposite! They're taking us along on the adventure and we are here for it
It's going to be an A-frame and an airstream on the same property, and we think it's SO encouraging! A lot of people think that we don't want to see the "behind the scenes" or the mess.... BUT WE DO! We show a lot of accounts that do before and afters, and we love that, but we also love being taken along for the ride. People don't just buy what you're doing, they buy WHY you're doing it. They have a lot of focus on family, they love the area, and putting it all together is a true labor of love. We're invested in the story and we can't wait to see how it turns out.

With more than 35 years of combined experience in vacation rentals, Alex Husner and Annie Holcombe have teamed up to connect the dots between inspiration and opportunity, seeking to find the one story, idea, strategy or decision that led to their guests' big A-HA moment.
As legacy operators of vacation rentals, Alex and Annie believe in direct bookings, and rental owners who are currently only using OTAs like Airbnb or Vrbo can benefit from creating their own direct booking platform. In fact, they’re bullish on diversifying their properties to ensure they’re listed on multiple platforms and are flexible for different types of guests.
We also discuss the real estate and rental bubble and when it might burst, consolidation amongst rental properties, and what legacy vacation rentals can learn from newer short-term rentals (and vice versa).

It's time for #strsharesunday! Today we are sharing Cali Villas!
Owned and designed by Canadian blogger Krista Samek, this beautiful Florida triplex is individually themed while still having gorgeous beach vibes throughout. Take a look at how their tile and wallpaper is the same... but different throughout each unit.
There's a cohesive design, but each unit is still unique in its own way. We are obsessed with the coastal color palette (2 glasses of rosé please!).
What a great example of a property that can be multiple listings! We love what you're doing, Krista!

Rose and her husband Brian own Your Family's Place. Their properties specialize in hosting multigenerational families and groups traveling together. Featuring large sized properties on expansive private acreage, guests experience vacations that are "open and go" with onsite amenities designed with children and family in mind.
She’s a true owner-operator for her rentals, handling turnovers herself (with the family’s help), managing her business with an organizational chart, and making up for gaps in listings by booking photo shoots on her properties.
Rose says, “You’re either on vacation or you’re having a trip,” and she helps all of her guests to have a true vacation with all of the amenities at Your Family’s Place.

It's time for #strsharesunday! Today we are sharing Everwoods Group!
This week is a little different, and maybe even ironic... because they don't have wifi!
We know what you're thinking. Will you get bookings if you don't have wifi? Will people enjoy your space if you don't have wifi? The answer might surprise you. It's important to disconnect, enjoy nature's beauty and embrace your vacation. The kids may not like it, but parents will
They leave a physical book in their home for guests to write about their experience and their guests have loved being able to unplug and enjoy their time, and share hiking trail recommendations with other guests!
Whatever you have in mind for your property and for your ideal guest, go for it! We know that not having wifi is not a good fit for everyone. Trust us, as Columbus hosts, that would not work out well for us, but @everwoodsgroup is a perfect example of where it can really be beneficial!
You know... we could use a little unplugged vacation....
Good design is an example of “ONE thing” that will help your listing stand out. Implementing professional staging and unique decor in your short-term rental can lead directly to more bookings and higher revenue.
Gone are the days of just throwing a rental together and hoping for listings. The industry is getting more competitive as boutique hotels and experience stays are gaining popularity. Focusing your short-term rental around good design principles is a near guarantee for success in the competitive STR landscape.
Tips for design in your STR:
Are you an aspiring designer,...
It's time for #strsharesunday! Today we are sharing Wood You Stay!
Listeners, you know we love a good pun. Steve and Samantha's last name is Wood... get it? Their properties are located in Utah and Idaho and they have their direct booking site linked on their instagram account.
They're just getting started, so they haven't posted a ton of photos yet, but there are multiple videos, including ones about who they are and their story, so they're doing an amazing job promoting both of their properties as they get going.
We actually get this question a lot: should each property have their own social accounts? Well, you can... but that can quickly become a lot to manage, so sometimes it's easier to have one brand account that features all of your properties if you have more than one, and Wood You Stay is an excellent example of how to do this. Well done!
